For a pleasent, comfortable & homely stay
Before Jaipur was built, the capital of our Dhundhaar region lay at Amer. Nestled between the Aravali hills, and just 8 kilometres from City Palace of Jaipur; Amer is an ancient, picturesque and memorable destination in itself.
Apart from the famous and imposing 800 year old Fort, Amer also has innumerable stepwells, ancient temples, walks and treks in the Nahargarh Sanctuary area around Amer, small lakes like Maota and Sagar – the list is quite extensive.
When Amer was a living fort, there were three security walls encircling the habitation, the walls in their own right are an architectural marvel and can be discovered on a trek through the scrub forests and hills.
One of the most impressive gates is the KHERI GATE, close to SARAI BAORI stepwell. At sundown, the gates used to close and anyone approaching Amer post sundown would stay at the resthouse (sarai) with its own stepwell (baori) waiting for sunrise and an entry to the magical medieval town of Amer.
Just a kilometre from Kheri Gate lies an 800 year old Jain Temple, the Nasiyan ji of Kirti Stambh, famous because of its intricately carved pillar. There is another rather unique stepwell just across the Jain temple.
And besides this smaller stepwell, lies the orchard retreat called Shri Vatika.
Well furnished 2 rooms, a large living room and well equipped kitchen ensure you are comfortable. The views of hills and battlements, security walls and buttresses ensure you have a view to cherish forever.
The verdant green orchard with lots of fruiting trees, some vegetable farming, lotus ponds with over 10 different types of different water lilies and lots of jungle trees ensure fresh air, peace and tranquillity, lots of birds (including gems like paradise flycatcher), peacocks and partridges, more than 10 different butterfly species and above all a land that has rarely been touched by pesticides, chemical fertilizers and is bounteous as land should be, naturally and abundantly.
